About the Animal of the Day

The animal of the day page highlights a single species that changes every 24 hours. The pick is generated from the date itself, so everyone who visits on the same day sees the same animal, and tomorrow's animal is always a surprise.

Each entry includes a full-size photograph, the common and scientific name, the taxonomic classification, and the conservation status when it is known. You can share today's animal with a direct link, add it to your favorites, or explore the rest of its category with one click.

It is an easy habit to keep: a thirty-second nature break in the morning, a daily prompt for classrooms and homeschool schedules, and a simple way to meet species you would never think to search for.
